It'south official, this shit makes no sense at all.

C.C, providing the shortest and most accurate description of the prove

Lawmaking MENT is a Code Geass Abridged Seri—er… abridgement, created past PurpleEyesWTF (also the creator of None Piece), and is ane of the near bizarre abridged series out there. It combines standard abridging with faster-paced, nonsensical comedic editing to create a very unique flavor reminiscent of Monty-Python sketch comedies, but without censorship. Code MENT very loosely follows the actions in the original serial – in general, while the events and outcomes are the same-ish, characterization and motivations are jettisoned for the sake of comedy, with all the characters acting considerably more stupid, and editing scenes from several episodes or other series into the continuity, creating a melting pot of insanity. The series is considered a "parody of a parody".

While it sounds wacky on paper (and is even wackier onscreen), PurpleEyes is known to hold himself to high standards for a YouTube abridger. The serial is notable for PurpleEyes'southward impressive voice-work (giving each character in a cast well known to contain Loads and Loads of Characters his or her ain distinct vocalisation), its fast-paced humor, high-quality editing, and excellent comedic timing.

Sixteen episodes were released, not counting the re-edits, of which there have been ii: Episodes ten and 13. Watch it here. The not-canon "fifth" episode of None Piece is too considered the equally non-canon episode 14.five for Code MENT. There were plans for at least 19 episodes, with the ninteenth set as a G Finale, but the series has ultimately died due to PurpleEyes having real life obligations to take care of.

It became another progenitor for a new wave of abridging series, just similar Petty Kuriboh, known as abridgeMENTs, with distinctive vocalisation actors, fast-paced not-sequitur humor, heavy editing, and pushing the envelope to its breaking indicate. So far, Supernatural: The Blitheness Abridged, Infinite MENT and Medaka MENT follow the mold.

Now has a character page under construction.

Not to be confused with the other Lawmaking Geass Abridged Series: Code Geass: The Abridged Series.

Simply don't you e'er ever interrupt someone; it'south just rude.

One: Suzaku, listen! It'due south me!
Suzaku: No, it is non! Because I'grand me! And that makes you not me!
      One: What the f***?
      [Beat]
One: You know what, just kill me.

    • Lelouch again:

Lelouch: If I'thou out there, then who'south in here...? [GASP] I'M MAGIC!

  • It'due south Like I Always Say: Or Lelouch'due south mother, every bit the case may exist.

Lelouch: Mao, Mao, Mao. It's like my mother used to say: "You tin go on all your farts in a bag, merely you'll never actually appreciate the start fourth dimension you let information technology rip."

  • Information technology Makes Sense in Context: For certain definitions of "sense" and "context".
  • Lame Comeback: In episode 10.

Deithard: Oh, it'southward you two idiots. What do you want?
Jeremiah: Yous're the idiot. I am so good at come up backs.

  • Large Ham: Lelouch and Jeremiah all the time.
  • Larynx Noise: At that place isn't much of any try to brand female voices sound female and IT IS GLORIOUS. Many of them practice sound sufficiently feminine, specially later on on (such as C.C., Milly and Nunally), but more importantly, they all manage to sound completely different.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Suzaku.

    "Koo-koo-ca-choo, Mrs. Robinson!"

    "Comin' at ya Cleopatra!"

  • Major Injury Underreaction: Fifty-fifty though she died, Lelouch'due south female parent certain didn't seem to limited much pain.

    Lelouch'south Mother: That smarts!

  • Man of a Yard Voices: All the voices are washed past Purple Eyes, and he does a pretty damn good job at it. Though some of the female characters sound kind of similar. Kallen, (and ane of her Moms), sound like Mickey Mouse.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: In "The Pursuit of Happiness", we get a crossover between Nullmetal Alchemist, Code MENT, Danganronpa Abridged Thing, Soul Whatever, and None Slice. Information technology'south just as ridiculous as it sounds.
  • Medium Awareness: During 13-2:

Soldier one: [a submarine flies toward them] Dude, is that a sub?
Soldier 2: No. Didn't you read the caption earlier? Information technology'south a UVARD.
Soldier 1: The fuck is a UVARD?! [hit past UVARD]

  • Metaphorgotten:
    • Episode viii:

Lelouch/Ane: We are the Nighttime Knights for Justice. Because as children we were nursed on the milk of justice, and equally we grew up we acquired a taste for justice. Now as we become older nosotros once once more want the taste of justice...but we cannot observe the milk! And so we go to Starbucks! And we go a coffee! Merely it'southward not the same affair! IT SUCKS! WHY DID I Society THIS!? It'S TERRIBLE! And now you all understand what our mission is. And. What. We. Must. Practise.

    • Episode 2:

Lelouch: Like making babies from a processed! Mm, processed.

    • Episode 9:

Lelouch: Don't flatter yourself. I was just trying to bite your tongue off and so I wouldn't have to hear your ugly face anymore.

  • Listen-Control Music: C.C. mentions that when she gave a Geass to Ke$ha, it fabricated everyone call up she could sing.
  • Mondegreen Gag: Lelouch believes that the vocal Heartbeat by Grum is actually chosen "High People" because she misheard it.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: "NO Ane CARES Most KALLEN!"
  • My God, What Have I Done?: 1's reaction when he learns that he and the Black Knights just attacked a department store instead of a drug warehouse, right before he orders Oghi to steal equally much stuff equally possible.
  • Never Learned to Read: It'due south generally safe to assume a character can't read until proven otherwise.
    • Lelouch, Suzaku, and Kallen.
    • C.C. is the only character in the entire series that has proven she isn't illiterate, which might explicate a lot as to why she seems to be the smartest person around, (although it helps that she's as well the only character who isn't insane).
    • Ohgi reads Lelouch's plans in episode ten simply, considering that Lelouch can't spell (in English anyway), Ohgi might only be as bad as he is.
    • Bizarrely, at to the lowest degree one of the Britannian soldiers knows how to read, and he implies the other can equally well. This is in sharp contrast to the residue of their characterization.
  • Not Then Above It All: Many of the Only Sane Characters listed below have diverse quirks preventing them from staying completely on the ball.
    • Ohgi is pretty reasonable, particularly when dealing with One and his drug-addled cohorts...but then he finds Viletta in the dumpster. His blatant attraction to her (to the point of stripping her down while she's comatose) obviously takes priority over One'southward orders.
    • Death the Kid is the well-nigh reasonable of his family, but Soul Whatever shows that he's not exactly the smartest guy around.
    • C.C. wears the strangest outfits. Lelouch is repeatedly baffled by whatever disguise she happens to be wearing from Episode xiv onward.

Lelouch: She stopped with the whole white clothes thing. Now she looks like a cross between a French Maid and a Vietnamese hooker.

  • Noodle Incident:
    • There are multiple references to an incident from Suzaku and Lelouch'south babyhood involving a Skid-North-Slide. He gear up it on burn. While Lelouch was on it.
    • "And that was the third fourth dimension I tried meth." (Lelouch)
    • "And that'southward why I'm not legally allowed to use pair of scissors anymore." (Suzaku)
    • The conversation the Japanese guards have while Lelouch kills their leader.

Guard: ...and it took a ton of pilus spray...could you believe it? I had to run and go the hose...but thank god I knew were the ax was...banana shoes...

    • "Besides the years of stupidity I've had to suffer because of you people, you lot let somebody accident up a span correct in front end of you and didn't do anything." (Kewell)
  • N-Word Privileges: Lelouch loudly exclaims "fuck yous, nigga!" to Mao in Episode xvi, while covered with an Ash Face. Mao retorts that merely he's immune to say that, since he's a black albino.
  • Off the Rails: It'southward about as related to the original plot as the Tabletop RPG of Samurai Pizza Cats with the original Japanese abridged Source Volume translated by a barely-literate Korean farmer in both languages in a session with a bunch of apprentice noobs.
  • But Sane Human:
    • C.C. and Kewell are the only characters in the cast that aren't some variety of crazy or stupid.
    • Euphemia's pretty sane too. Later on that whole suicide matter, anyway—or perhaps because of it...
    • Ohgi seems to know what he'southward doing. Also, though she's just the educatee trunk president, Milly is pretty on the ball.
    • Decease the Kid, particularly in comparison to his relatives.
    • Mao, of all people, is actually a pretty sane and rational guy. He'southward pretty friendly besides.
    • Lelouch seems to have been this every bit a kid.
  • Oh, Crap!: Deithard has an understated one:

    Deithard: Has anyone seen One?

  • Parody Sue: Lelouch. He's a prince who's too related to Death the Kid and Alucard with incredible power and influence over others, gets away with stuff that tin can but exist described as batshit insane... and spends most of his time merely existence a Jerkass, scoring drugs, blowing stuff up, and contributing nothing but menace to society.
  • The Password Is Ever "Swordfish": Lelouch mentions in passing that Suzaku actually does always use "Swordfish" as his countersign.
  • Phrase Catcher: Whenever Rivalz talks, one-half of the time Lelouch's response is "Close the fuck up, Rivalz."
  • Political Correctness Gone Mad: In Episode 16, Suzaku refuses to help Nunally because it plays into the Dryad in Distress trope, and is therefore sexist. He too tin't pretend that she's not a adult female, considering that's denying Nunally her sexual identity.
  • Previously on…: "Last time!" Parodied in the first of Episode 5. None of information technology happened, of course...we think.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Lelouch, mostly. He'south very easily distracted. Despite driving the plot, most of his insane stunts are washed on a whim. Lloyd besides.
  • Rapid-Fire Comedy: Part of what makes this series and then unlike from other Abridged Series out there. It's rare for a unmarried character to speak for more a few seconds at a time.
  • Re-Cut: All of the offset eight episodes were redone to see Majestic Eyes' growing skill and standards. Some jokes were lost in the process but ultimately the final versions are superior. Episode 10 has a proficient example of an extended cut.
  • Dominion of Funny: ...it's an abridged series.
    • Kallen and Lelouch's inability to pronounce "Britannia" in the recut of episode ten
    • Breakable... Brittle Sticks... Stick Brittle...
  • Refuge in Audacity: There is not a single plot in the unabridged serial that hasn't made extensive utilize of this.
  • Robosexual: In episode ten, Lelouch'southward figurer says "Thanks for waiting...my love."
  • Running Gag:
    • Team Death Match!
    • Lelouch breaking every door he opens.
  • Sanity Ball: Lelouch'southward general sanity is directly tied to whoever he'south sharing a scene with. He's typically a borderline Idiot Hero, but he tends to exist the Straight Homo if he's with anybody that happens to be crazier/stupider than him, such as Suzaku.
  • Say My Proper name: "JAAASSSSSPPPPPEEEERRRRRR!"
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: Mao says this discussion for discussion in Episode 14 when a Mexican Stand Off between Shirley, Lelouch and himself goes bad. Yous know, equally far as one can become "bad" when the situation is a Mexican Stand up Off.

Shirley: Nobody move until I figure out what I'm doing!

  • Self-Deprecation:
    • Afterwards seeing a clip of None Piece Lelouch shouts "THIS IS AWFUL!"
    • During the fake TAC awards:

Jeremiah: Here'south a listing of the categories we've won. "Best Stolen Idea Since Facebook".

      Suzaku and Lelouch: HOORAY!

Jeremiah: Okay, that award shouldn't take warranted that particular reaction from yous 2.

Lelouch: Hey, I'll take them where I tin go them.

Jeremiah: Moving on. The "Burns My Eyeballs Only Watching It" honor.

      Suzaku and Lelouch: YAAAAY!

Jeremiah: [every bit the other two continue to cheer in the background] Well, let it never exist said that you two can't be optimistic.

    • The introduction of episode fourteen has the tag line "Like Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series, only worse!" This, humorously enough, got a Shout-Out in the intro to Episode 56 of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series; Yami's opening narration is "Like Lawmaking MENT, merely worse!"
  • Serial Escalation: Remember of all the shenanigans washed so far. PurpleEyesWTF managed to top all of them in the first 9 seconds of Episode 12. And it goes even further from there.

Lelouch: Getting kicked off the Cyberspace for this one.

  • "Shaggy Frog" Story: Lelouch's...communication to Mao in Episode fifteen.
  • Shock Site: "Hey, what's goin' on over here...? What's she doin' with that cup...? OH GOD I'M GONNA BE Ill!"
  • Shout-Out: Like all Abridged Serial, there are an absurd amount of them. Here are some:
    • The whole Skype call in episode 8 seems like a hilarious homage to Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
    • Raymond Philips from Episode 10 (non-canon edition) is likely a shout-out to Senor Cardgage.
    • Jeremiah's "vii minutes" rant:
    • The Japanese leader telling people to email him if they want him to send them a pizza bagel.
    • Jeremiah (while high on PCP) screaming that "the dream is collapsing".
    • Episode v has a solider watching a scene from Dragon Ball Z Abridged.

      "Seriously? That shit again?"

    • Episode 5 also has Lelouch watch a bit from LittleKuriboh'southward video "Without Yugi"

      Lelouch: What is this crap?

    • "Bored now."
    • In Episode ten:

    • "I need to get out of here. It's the aroma..."
    • Notably, from Episode 13:

Lelouch: [nonchalantly gazing at his iPony two] Shirley'due south Dad and he was buried alive. There, I'm a regular Dick Tracy.

    • "I implore you to reconsider."
    • Episode 14:
    • Lelouch'south ringtone is "Cat Party" for a few episodes.
    • To Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series in Episode 12:

Security Guy with Deep Voice: Attention assholes, anyone defenseless screwing with the onetime human being gets shot by our very visible guns.

    • At the end of the championship sequence for Episode 15, "All Hail the Hypnotoad" briefly flashes on screen.
  • Simpleton Vocalization: Suzaku.
  • Smart Ball: Suzaku, of all people, holds one in Episode 16. While he still has his moments (trying to buy clothes at the soup store), he's of a sudden competent plenty to kick and destroy a turret while it'south shooting at him.
  • The Sociopath: Lelouch, Emperor Charles, Cornelia, and Guilford. All played for laughs.
  • Sound-Result Bleep: Used very inconsistently. "Fuck" will often be said unbleeped one moment, and so be bleeped a few seconds subsequently. It more often than not seems to exist dictated past Rule of Funny.
  • Spicy Latina: Viletta.
  • Stock Shticks: Lelouch uses ane to interruption the bad-mannered silence with C.C. Then he says it several more times, becoming increasingly angry at each repetition.
  • Stupid Surrender: Mao does this at the cease of Episode 15, even though he's gotten out of worse. It doesn't do him much practiced.
  • The Stoner: Tamaki. Taken to an extreme in Episode 12 where he consumed all the meth they stole instead of selling it.
  • Take That!:
    • In the first episode, Nagata tries to make the Britannians chasing him back off by maxim he has the entire cast of Two and a Half Men in his truck. They reply past opening fire.
    • Diethard complains about how they cancelled Megas XLR so Cornelia could broadcast the Shinjuku Massacre.
    • Lelouch referring to the complete script of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace equally the exact opposite of clever.
    • In Episode x:

      1: Here, Kallen.

      Kallen: What's this?

Ane: It'southward a flash drive containing the mix of all the best Owl City songs for our journeying to Shatter Mountain.

Kallen: Just it says it's only one megabyte large.

      Kallen: Oh.

    • ...And Episode 11:

Lelouch: Ohgi, is the robot okay?!

Kallen: I'm fine, simply a couple of bruises.

Lelouch: Aye, that's cool, I approximate, but IS THE ROBOT OKAY?!

Kallen: I don't know. The condition screen just says Jessica Alba's picture show career.

      Lelouch: Damn, that bad, huh?

    • Episode four:

Lelouch: [finishing his monologue] ...only you can call me...Adam West!

      Kallen: Noooo.

      Lelouch: Uh, call me five?

      Kallen: Lower.

      Lelouch: Iv.

      Kallen: Lower!

      Lelouch: Five!

      Kallen: Oh my God, no!

      Lelouch: Two?

      Kallen: Lower...

      Lelouch: Colin Farrell!

      Kallen: Not that depression!

    • In Episode xi, listening to onetime Madonna songs is a Brownish Note for both Suzaku and Lelouch.
    • Episode four has a rather interesting case:

Lelouch: What are you lot talking about? I spent the entirety of yesterday watching the funny episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond. [thinking to himself] Y'all fool! Everyone KNOWS those don't exist!

Lelouch: [thinking, filled with satisfaction] Like I was saying, y'all're a genius!

    • Episode 13 has one for the iPad...sorry, "iPony":

Lelouch: These things are clearly too large for conventional pockets, and clearly as well small to be existent computers. What is the indicate of this thing?!

    • ...And to keep things fair, Windows vii takes the arraign for some technological failures.

      Lelouch: DAMN You, WINDOWS SEVEN!

    • Another scissure at Microsoft from Episode 15:

C.C.: I know you're going to think I'chiliad crazy when I say this, just Mao has the power to read minds. I know because I'm the one that gave him that power. And always since I did, he'southward slowly been going crazy.
      [Cut to Mao]
Mao: Oh my God, this Zune is swell!

    • One episode has the Title Sequence interrupted past the channel being changed by blow, forcing the guy with the remote to cycle through channels to get back to the show. Afterward getting to each wrong i, he can usually be heard saying, "No..." in an absently annoyed kind of fashion... but when he gets to a aqueduct showing Lucky Star, he comes out instead with, "Oh HELL no!"
    • Lelouch tries to apply electro-convulsive therapy to try to forget The Hangover 3.
    • Episode sixteen seems to take one straight towards the original anime, where Lelouch explains how in a series where C.C. was an immortal witch, he got hypnotic eye powers, and Nina humped the corner of a table, Suzaku kicking the sentry turret on the ceiling was fucking stupid.
  • Tangled Family Tree: Even more than and then than the original serial, since Lelouch'south paternal uncle and cousin are Death and Death the Kid, and his maternal uncle is Alucard.

C.C: It's official. This shit makes no sense at all.

  • Tempting Fate: In episode fourteen:

Mao: You lot know, I thought today was gonna suck, but it turns out I'thou gonna find the girl I've been looking for forever and I got a new best friend. [looks through the window backside Mao to Shirley pointing a gun at him] [Beat] OH JUST FUCKING Assurance!

  • That Came Out Wrong: In episode six, when Lelouch is chasing a true cat that stole his Ane helmet.

Lelouch: That pussy's got my head'southward protection! Wow. That did non come out right. [falls into a bush] Well, this figures. I'm supposed to exist chasing pussy but instead I'thou stuck in the bush. [Beat out] What is incorrect with me today! [finds Suzaku] Suzaku, what are y'all doing here?

Suzaku: I'm here to kick ass. [hears meow] Now, let's go take care of your pussy problem!

Lelouch: Well, at to the lowest degree, it'due south not simply me.

Jeremiah: Permit'south hug information technology out, bitch!

  • Championship Drop: In Episodes 2—"Big Trouble", 6—"The Olfactory property Of Victory", and 11—"Bears Are Crazy".
  • Too Dumb to Live:
    • Kallen and Suzaku.
    • Lelouch forgot to put air holes in his helmet.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Jeremiah and Viletta are involved in a pretty horrific auto crash at the first of Episode iv, of the "behemothic fireball of expiry" variety. They show upwardly later with nary a scratch on either of them.

Jeremiah: Pitiful I'm late, you guys, car trouble.

  • Unusual Euphemism: Lelouch's listen is and so warped from using so many that when hearing someone was going to exist indicted (Milly meant to say "inducted"), his response was "Milly, that's disgusting!"
  • Vitriolic All-time Buds: Lelouch and Suzaku. Suzaku'south endangered Lelouch a number of times (for instance setting his Slip-Due north-Slide on burn down while he was on information technology), Lelouch tends to berate him for his stupidity and the 2 have had some rather heated arguments throughout the series. Despite this, he's one of the few people Lelouch seems to actually care most, going so far as to rescue him from execution while disguised every bit I.
  • The Walrus Was Paul: Despite some continuity and an overarching plot, the prove is by and large made for the sake of humour, not consistency. If something is funny but defies logic, it will usually show up anyway, become no explanation, then movement on just as quickly to the next thing.
  • What Is This Feeling?: Lelouch's computer asks this before referring to Lelouch as "my love".
  • When I Was Your Age...: For some reason, this seems to be the catchphrase for One.
  • Who Is Driving?: A visual gag in Episode 4, which opens on Jeremiah and Villetta in the back of a government vehicle discussing Suzaku's sentence.

Jeremiah: By the mode ... if I'm back here ... and you're back here ... who the hell is driving this car? [Encounter Unexplained Recovery entry above for the backwash of this scene]

  • Your Mom:

Cornelia: Lloyd, you're our height researcher.

Lloyd: Your mother's our top researcher!

  • You Should Take Died Instead:

Dark Knight's Soldier: We've already lost Lieutenant Nielson.

Lieutenant Nielson: I am content. [dies]
